I’m updating my review. I was unhappy with the evaluation methods at the gym, however the owner reached out to me and not only heard my concerns but also told me they are using a new evaluation system that he believes will be more effective. From the way it was explained, it sounds much better. We have had a great experience with the staff and after 3 years we are willing to stick it out to see how the new system works. if all is well I’ll bump it back to 5stars. Great facility and coaches. Original review:My daughter has gone there since she was 3 and she is now 7. It is a nice facility and the instructors are nice. That being said we have found ourselves unhappy with our child’s progress and the lack of good evaluation and critiques by the instructors. They use a skills chart which you can see online with each skill being worth 10 stars. Up until September 2018 there were several skill on my daughter’s chart that had not been updated since August 2017! I have also never seen anyone evaluate my daughter or speak to me about her progress. My husband was told the coaches put the skills in after class when they can… so they are trying to remember skills each child could or couldn’t do and to what degree? No wonder it’s not accurate. The gym I used to take my older child to had individual evaluations which parents could sign up for. You received an evaluation which explained everything and the instructor explained to you as well so you knew exactly where you were and what you needed to work on. We will be going back there instead. It’s bittersweet cause I do love the staff, just not the system.
