A Georgia woman is going viral after calling 911 on three Black men she encountered on a wooded trail, even as they repeatedly asked her to leave them alone. The woman claimed one of the men had a weapon, but she continued walking toward the group while insisting she felt threatened. The men, who said they were on their way to shoot a music video, laughed off the encounter as the woman accused them of not belonging and demanded they leave. Even the 911 dispatcher reportedly instructed her to leave the men alone.

We talked about this yesterday. What’s happening here is sadly a tale as old as time. White women calling out usually Black men, but men of color for being in a place they don’t belong. Although it clearly happens to women as well. It just seems more often than not, it’s a Black man. But one thing is for sure, when he told her it was none of her business, he was right. She’s filled with way too much self-importance. People mess up. People do stupid things. It happens all the time. Instead of doubling down like she’s doing here, why can’t she just say, you know what, I was in the wrong? I profiled them. I overreacted. When I yelled into my phone at the police, “I need help now! I need help now!” I didn’t really need help, I just wanted to appear to be the victim, which nothing in either clip, proves she was. Yes, he gave her the middle finger, two actually. I support that. I’m sure I would’ve done the same thing but that dude was more chill than I am on my chillest day. That dude wasn’t threatening her in anyway. And so what if they had a gun? That’s legal. So what if they had a sword? They’re filming. They told you that from jump. Just stand down, and own your shit. An apology goes a long way. Certainly farther than this nonsense you’re trying to put out. You look terrible in this. People just wanna go outside and do stuff without a walking stereotype harassing them. @thatdaneshguy Update! Megan Melgaard @meganmelgaard gives her side of the story and it’s everything we said in the previous video.
