⚠️ Avoid This Company at All Costs — Worst Moving Experience Ever! ⚠️I’m sharing this to warn anyone considering Community Moving and Storage (also known as AM Moving Company) — they operate under both names to confuse customers. They email as Community Moving and Storage but leave flyers and paperwork that say AM Moving Company — which is how they’re listed on the BBB.Our family moved from Dallas to Chicago, and this company turned what should’ve been a simple move into a nightmare. We were originally quoted $2,500, with 40% due at pickup and the balance due upon delivery, including 30 days of free storage once our items arrived in Chicago.Then, at the last minute, they changed everything — the total jumped to $5,250 after a classic bait-and-switch. We agreed only because they promised the new price included pickup, delivery, and storage.We’ve already paid $2,774.32, but they’re now demanding $2,517 plus $350 for storage, or $4,000 more to deliver our belongings. Our items are being held hostage, and we’re not even allowed to know where they’re being stored unless we pay additional fees.Every step of this process has been filled with lies, hidden fees, and intimidation. We were told one thing in writing, charged another, and threatened with extra costs at every turn.I’ve already filed a complaint with the BBB and will be filing with the U.S. Department of Transportation (FMCSA), Federal Trade Commission, and both the Texas and Illinois Attorneys General.This company preys on families during stressful transitions. Do NOT use Community Moving and Storage or AM Moving Company. Their business practices are unethical, deceptive, and predatory. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the heartache.
