I received a quote to euthanise our dog Archie and agreed to the price and time.
Approximately 1hr later after advising all of my family to leave their respective jobs I received a txt advising, “Hi Darren, Dr Celeste has advised that Archie will be sedated prior to the procedure, and this will be an additional $35”.
To euthanise an animal without sedation would not only be unethical, I would suggest an act of cruelty and therefore unlawful. To not include sedation in the original quoted price and then pass this on to the client some time later in my mind is unethical and immoral.
I would suggest that all procedures involving euthanising an animal would involve sedation and that failing to advertise this fact is misleading and false advertising.
