Christian Shibeshi was deactivated by Uber shortly after he bought a 2020 Cadillac Escalade for about $65,000 to drive for Uber Black. For the almost 6-month deactivation period, he said, he relied on food stamps, credit cards and the kindness of others to support his family – and called the company’s support 10 to 20 times.
After we asked Uber about Shibeshi’s case, he was allowed back on the app earlier this month.
