The following is what she wrote…
I went to Serenity Spa in Saskatoon after seeing a Facebook ad promoting a discounted facial. The facial itself was relaxing and professionally done — no complaints there.
But immediately afterward, I was taken into a high-pressure sales pitch with a man named Patrick. He showed me AI-enhanced photos of my face taken at extremely unflattering angles, clearly meant to create insecurity and urgency.
Patrick then pitched a “premium” package priced at $269 per month — but avoided saying upfront that the payment plan runs for 24 months. That means you’re paying over $6,400 total for 12 facials, which works out to more than $500 per treatment.
When I asked for the terms in writing before paying, I was told that I would only receive the contract after payment — a huge red flag. He was evasive, wouldn’t answer direct questions clearly, and pushed financing heavily even when I said I only pay in full or not at all.
Eventually, they offered me the most expensive plan ($6,500+) at the same price as the cheapest one ($3,600) — a clear sign that these “values” are made up and the goal is just to close a sale.
This is not a spa experience — it’s a sales trap disguised as skincare. If you go, enjoy the facial and decline everything else. Do not sign anything or commit to a payment plan without reading all the fine print (which they won’t show you in advance).
This kind of business model should not be allowed in Saskatoon, and the public deserves to be warned. I hope more people speak up before they expand to other cities
